No. It needs a dry surface to set, and it cannot seal while water is flowing over it. Let the area dry completely (1–2 sunny days after rain), then apply. For water under pressure or a leaking pipe, call a plumber.

It is not permanent. Plan on about one monsoon: buyers of this kind of coating report it holding for roughly 6 to 12 months, sometimes a little longer. Sun, rain and foot traffic wear the thin clear coat down. Check it after the first heavy rain and re-coat once a year before the monsoon, especially on exposed roofs.

No. On a wet or damp surface it will not set and can turn white and wash off. Apply on a clean, fully dry surface on a dry day, and keep water off it for 24–48 hours (longer in cold or humid weather).

On the side where the water gets in: the terrace top or the bathroom floor joints upstairs, not on your damp ceiling. Coating the ceiling from below does not stop water coming from above. If water appears even when the bathroom upstairs is not being used, it is likely a pipe: please call a plumber.

No. SealClear™ is for hairline cracks, tile joints and seepage spots. Fill any gap wider than a coin's edge with cement or putty first, then coat over it. Broken slabs, structural cracks or a terrace where water stands because of a bad slope need a mason.

SealClear™ is for sealing crack lines, tile joints and seepage spots, not for coating a whole roof. Measure the total length of your cracks and joints, not the floor area.

Cracks and joints: one jar (about 300 g) seals about 25–30 running feet of crack or joint (a 5 cm wide strip, 2–3 thin coats). For example, 100 ft of cracks needs about 4 jars.

Full surface: as a full coat, one jar covers only about 4–15 sq ft, depending on how thick you brush it and how many coats you apply. A 2,000 sq ft roof would need roughly 140 to 500 jars, so for a whole roof or terrace a regular waterproofing coat from a contractor is the better choice. Yes, when you brush on thin, even coats and let each coat turn clear before the next. A thick, uneven coat can look cloudy, and on matte tiles it can look slightly glossy. Test a small hidden spot first and wipe extra off the tile face while it is wet.
